Golliwog's Cakewalk by Claude Debussy, arr. by Hart Morris

 Claude Debussy wrote a lovely suite of six songs for solo piano titled "The Children's Corner" This suite was dedicated to his daughter, Claude-Emma and each movement represents a unique aspect of a child’s imagination. This 6th movement represents a light-hearted dance and the person with the most “elaborate steps” won a cake! It is ragtime with syncopations galore and Hart has masterfully assigned TD, RT, and mallet interspersed with Ring techniques and clean damping which will beautifully emphasize the syncopation. There are many ‘grace notes’ which add to the charm of this work. It is meant to be played lightly throughout the wide dynamic range and tempo variations will certainly make the performance dance! This is definitely a ‘must-have’ title for your advanced ringers to enjoy!
