This stick is very clear and articulate without sounding brittle or harsh. Sounds best in the top 4 octaves but can play through the range of a 5-octave instrument without cracking bars. Excellent for solo playing, as a hard orchestral marimba stick or as a medium vibe mallet. The handle is between 8.5 and 8.75mm in diameter (approximately 11/32).
