These timshas are embossed with the eight auspicious Buddhist symbols:
- The parasol protecting against evil
- The banner of victory of Buddha's teachings
- The conch shell of good luck
- The endless knot of eternal love
- The water vessel of abundance
- The two fish of salvation and fecundity
- The lotus of purity and beauty
- The Buddhist wheel of the law.
The Timsha Bells are ritual artifacts used by Buddhist Monks and other Shamanistic traditions. The Timshas are made of a complex alloy of bronze (copper and tin), iron, and zinc. When these unique finger cymbals strike each other they produce a clear, pure, cleansing sound that can be used to focus the mind before and after meditation, or by sound healers to clear the space of any negative energies. When played as an instrument they can be used as a chime or a bell. When playing, grasp the cymbals by the cord at the point where it enters the timsha, hold firmly and strike together at a 90 degree angle.
